WFR 2.0 - Legoland

Wednesday we took a trip to LegoLand!!  Thanks to our internet savvy Aunt Mere, we were able to get BOGO tickets!!!  We left early in the am and took the trip to Winter Haven.  Also thanks to Aunt Mere, the kids had adorable matching shirts - boys with ties, girls with letters.  She even offered a shirt to Matthew, but he decided he was ok with a t-shirt.  

We spent a very hot (and sometimes cloudy!) day at this former Cypress Gardens park.  We quickly decided this is a great place for kids 7 and under!!  Poor Matthew - thank goodness there are a few leftover roller coasters from the old park.  We all went to an absolutely pathetic water ski show first thing in the morning.  Everyone thought it was awful ... except for William who declared, "That was the most amazing show ever!"  Hmmmm ..... 

The rest of the day we ran all around the park going from ride to ride!!  We ended our day at McDonalds outside of the park feasting on much needed cold Diet Cokes and ice Cream!!  Check off that we went to LegoLand ... frankly we don't have to go here again. Fun day ... but expensive!!

WFR 2.0 - Doyle Day

On Tuesday we did a pool and lazy morning and then headed out to Lakeland to watch Andrew's baseball game.  Andrew spends 3 weeks at the Doyle Baseball Academy and was gone throughout the whole week my family was here.  So we went to him!!!  It was so fun watching him play (he pitched too!).  All the cousins were so excited to see their big cousin!!  We were able to take him out of camp and to dinner!!  We had a quick bite at Chili's.  I am so glad we were able to have this time with him.  You can tell he is the oldest of five ... he is so sweet with his cousins!!

WFR 2.0 - Blizzard Beach

WFR 2.0 (Wilkinson Family Reunion 2.0) - We had the most amazing week with my side of the family.  Grandma Wilkie, Team Browand and Team Greer spent a week in July at our house!!  We jammed packed the week with so much fun it is hard to imagine we did not all pass out from exhaustion.  Everyone arrived Sunday and we geared up for a full day at Blizzard Beach on Monday!!

This was Grandma's first trip to Blizzard Beach.  We could not believe it after lunch when she decided to do Summit Plummet!!  Amazing ... the only others that did the ride was Uncle Charlie, Aunt Melinda and Miss Jules twice!!  We had such a fun day with amazing weather!  We packed a big lunch and snacks and got to the park first thing in the am.  We stayed until 4 and everyone was tuckered out!!  BB was a great way to kick off our week together!

The only takers for Summit Plummet first thing in the am.  Grandma and Aunt Mel joined Jules later in the day!!

House with a View

Being on the lake with this incredible view was the huge draw to this house.  Over the past year, we have had some of the most amazing sunrises, sunsets, rainbows and even storms.  Since I am an early riser, I take full advantage of the views.  

Rare Pics of Me

Being the family photographer, I am always on the other side of the camera.  I noticed since I have ramped up my blogging that I am hardly in pictures unless it is a picture of the whole family!!  With my iPhone (and a little practice) I have vowed to capture myself more!!  Had dinner with some great friends from Jacksonville and Katie helped me with my makeup (I can use all the help I can get!!)  We had an incredibly fun night .... the comfort of old friends!!  Nothing better.

Cocoa Beach

On a whim after church, we decided to take a quick day trip to the beach.  The girls were in Indiana and Andrew at Doyle, so it was a 2 parent, 2 kid kind of day!!  Wow - how easy is that!!  Unfortunately, #3 and #5 are my least excited beach goers.  Matthew does not like the sand and William not a fan of the water.  Makes for an interesting day at the beach.  Biggest highlights - baseball and football with dad!!  Mom enjoyed the sun and the surf!!  

Our Camper!

This was a first for Team Kane ...  One of the kids going off to summer camp.  Not baseball camp, football camp, volleyball camp, basketball camp but a good, ole fashioned summer camp!!  Camp Wayfarer is located about 20 miles outside of Asheville, NC.  Matthew and I took a road trip from Orlando to Hilton Head, SC to be at Larson's baptism and then onto to NC.  We had an absolute blast together, laughing our brains out all the way!!  6 boys from Windermere attended the mini-session of the camp (12 days!).  Many of the kids at the camp were either there for 3 or 6 weeks!!  12 days was enough for both Matthew and mom.  Matthew really, really loved this camp.

A Different Kind of 4th

If you know me, you know my favorite holiday is the 4th of July!!  Love the colors, love our country, love fireworks, picnics, watermelon, parades and family.  But this year ... we only have 2 at home (the bookends).  We just had arrived home the day before from Columbus and Andrew will be leaving tomorrow for his Doyle baseball camp.  So we decided to let Andrew sleep in and take our baby to Celebration to the parade.  We met up with the Gambles and Cindy to watch a good ole fashioned small town parade.  It was fun to have time with just our ginger, but we missed everyone else.  Aunt Melinda took the girls to a parade and to the fireworks that night in Indianapolis.  Matthew celebrated at Camp Wayfarer at the biggest fireworks display in North Carolina.  We chose to sit on the lanai, grill out, watch all the theme park fireworks from the pool and listen to music.  It was a low key kind of day, but we really enjoyed it!!
