New Jersey Girl

This post is not in order .. but I wanted to start somewhere. Katie left on Saturday morning to spend 5 days with Casey and her family in New Jersey. Love that Katie is so confident that she just marches on a plane by herself, not nervous .... definitely her personality!! Dana has sent me a few pics from their adventures. Jet-skiing, beach, water park, surrey bikes, movie, sushi night, boardwalk, rides, pancake house, swimming .... sounds fantastic and so much fun!! Love that Katie has had such an active summer .. next trip for her - Seattle on Monday!! She will be home late tonight.

Summer Smorgasbord

A few odds and ends that I haven't posted about:

Matthew went to Orlando Magic basketball camp last week. He really liked it and learned a lot. Their team was undefeated but lost in the championship ... he was one sad camper!!! But that ended pretty quick when he saw all the loot he go including a basketball, headband and bag!!

Julia had her first pedicure. She was digging the massage chair and even picked up a People Magazine.

Andrew has been at Doyle Baseball Camp in Lakeland for 9 days so far. We miss him terribly but know he is having fun and learning tons. He had an in the park grand slam last night. He has a busy summer planned with our family trip to Tennessee and then a week in Seattle with Aunt Mere!!

Julia is officially a swimmer. I know not that impressive for a 5 year old, but impressive for a Kane 5 year old. Our kids don't start swimming until they can stand up in the shallow end of the pool. She is gaining confidence and having a blast in the pool!

Katie has had a full social life this summer. Parties, pools, water parks, friends over, etc. She had back to back to back trips to Tennessee, New Jersey with Casey and then Seattle with Andrew to see Aunt Mere and family!!

Julia's BFF Lauren is moving on Friday to Atlanta (and my sweet friend Ashley, weep!). They have been friends since birth and are so incredibly sweet together. I think they have only had one little tiff in years!! We will really miss the Servines but know this move to Atlanta is an amazing opportunity for their family!!

Will is just hanging with Momma, making me laugh, trying to get potty trained (trying key word), playing guns and swords and bad guys, drinking chocolate milk and just being a little guy. His birthday is in 2 weeks ... can't believe he is going to be THREE. And can't believe he is not potty trained yet!!

Matthew in DC

Sean took Matthew for a trip to the Washington DC for the week. I am so excited for them to have some one on one time together. Really, they are so similar that I think that they will have an amazing time. Matthew looks the most like Sean (well, Katie looks a lot like him too!) and they share a lot of the same personality traits (sense of humor, quick temper, free spirit). They will be in DC until Saturday ... trip plans include Smithsonian, Spy Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, National History Museum, and much more. Can't wait to see more pictures and hear all about the trip!!

Lovin the Beach

We took a quick trip to the Stellwag's beach condo this past weekend. We LOVE Indian River Beach (by Melbourne). So fun, big waves, cool shells and great friends. We missed not having Andrew with us but had a blast playing with everyone on the beach. It was HOT (especially the sand!), but the water felt great. Chris was fishing and he caught a couple of catfish, a flounder and even a stingray! The little ones loved seeing all the fish ... Julia has really improved on her swimming this summer and venture out much farther in the ocean. We played a fun washer game (I owned Sean and beat him pretty handily!). Matthew got the first bullseye and was very proud of himself. We played football, volleyball, made a great sandcastle and swam in the pool. We spent Saturday night, had a cookout, caught a movie and then spent Sunday morning at the beach. So very fun!!!

Jordan for the Week

We were so happy that Jordan (Buddy's daughter) could spend the week with us. We went to Jacksonville last Friday to pick her up. We had a huge week planned with the 4th, 2 water parks, the Tampa Aquarium, mini golf, lunch and dinner out, movies, pedicure .... We had blast with her. She is such a polite girl and Katie and her just laughed and laughed all week. It was such a pleasure to have her in our home ...

Crazy Kids on the 4th

Despite a very rainy 4th of July, we were able to trek downtown around 9pm to see the fireworks. It was a misty night with a bit of a breeze. A couple times I was actually chilly!! I don't ever remember that for a 4th in Florida!! The fireworks in Celebration are amazing and LONG!! At least 30 minutes which is really a long time for fireworks. The kids basically liked them (Julia was a little timid (imagine that?) and William just needed his paci and mimi and he was good to go. We are so blessed to live in the

Happy 4th!

We absolutely love the 4th of July ... and especially in this great All American town of Celebration. Yesterday we went to Jacksonville to meet Buddy and her crew and bring Jordan back with us!!! We were already sporting our 4th of July beachwear!!

This morning we dressed patriotically for the 4th parade. Sean and Matthew marched with Little League (and Will went along!) .. the other kids and I watched!! Very fun and the weather was perfect today. A little breeze, nice and sunny ... were were worried that the weather would be rainy.
