Go Laker Basketball

We have been spending alot of time at Andrew's basketball games!! He plays on the school's 7/8 grade team. This is the first year with our new head coach, Coach Simmons. He is an awesome coach and has brought a great system to the school. Our team is 4 - 6 and they are really improving. We are very aggressive on defense and are working on the offense!! Check out the scoreboard from a couple of weeks ago ... we were the guests. Definitely we played great that game. Andrew has four games left and then we roll right into baseball season!!!

The Gulper Eel

Matthew made the coolest diarama for his ocean project this past weekend!!! Most kids chose dolphins or clownfish ... but not Matthew. He choose the GULPER EEL, a scary ocean animal that lives in the dark, murky waters at the bottom of the ocean. He spray painted the box blue, bought a bunch of aquarium decoration and then created his eels with playdough. He was particularly proud of his green angelfish with the toothpicks sticking out of it!! Way to go Matthew ... You rock!!

Future Picasso

Grandma Wilkie gave Jules an easel for Christmas ... the gift is a hit!! The other day she spent THREE HOURS on the front porch painting what she saw ... trees, leaves, flowers, butterflies .... Julia is much different than the rest of the Kane kids ... very imaginative .. quiet ... VERY pokey ... more creative ... kind of in another world sometime. She is definitely the smallest at this age .... but with the longest hair!! She is really too cute!!

Bubble Boy

So I bathed William the other day and got him out of the tub, dressed and then put Jules in ... Will was quietly playing so I ran into the kitchen to do something and then went to find him ... little did I know he was playing quietly on the outside of the bathtub ... making a bubble hat for himself. It was so funny ... because it was the first time that he thought he was funny and had that coy little smile like ... "Hey look at me!" Really very cute!!

Will's Words

As I was driving for the umpteenth time to Windermere Friday, all of a sudden I heard "Mommy!" I said "What Julia?" There was no answer ... I looked in the rear view mirror to see Jules fast asleep but Will grinning. Was that him so clearly? It was ... this week Will is now clearly saying everyone's name .. including calling himself Baby. He says Mommy, Dada, Doo (Andrew), Katie, Moo (Matthew), Joo (Julia) ... other words include bye-bye, hi, all done, uh-oh, ouch, ea-ea (which means drink, eat or pacifier), ball (imagine that), dog, wow, ok ... Pretty good for 17 months old ... he hasn't figured out NO yet ... that will be coming soon enough!!

More Baby Cooper

Meredith and I got to spend time with Melinda and Cooper last night at the hospital after all the kids were asleep. We tried to do our amatuer photo shoot and got some nice pictures .... I feel so lucky to have this time with my sisters .... boy do I wish we lived closer together!!

This little guy is tired ... it is hard to be in this big, cold world!!

I can't believe my little sister is on baby #3 ... she is an amazing woman, selfless, strong, fun and really has her priorities correct. I am in awe of her patience, hard work and never complaining ..

What a perfect, sweet sibling picture ... I know this will be Melinda's favorite.

Cousin Fun

So Meredith and I have been corralling 3 - 1 year olds and experiencing what life would be like with triplets ... ugh!!!! We are affectionately referring to them as the urchins ...
