William - One Month Old

William - One Month Old!!

We can hardly believe that William will be 1 month old tomorrow. He is such a sweet and patient baby (I guess that is a function of his birth order, not his parenting!). He is in a regular sleep pattern at night and is starting to look around and wake up a bit. We are starting to get a few smirks/smiles (most likely gas!) and it is so fun to see what his beautiful face will look like smiling. Julia and I took him to the park this morning. A rare August day with a bit of a breeze. It is so cute when they hold their breath when the wind blows in their face. We are all getting used to being a family of 7. Julia continues to be sweet to Will but a little naughty to the rest of us.

First Day of School

First Day of School - Windermere Prep

Andrew, Katie and Matthew had their first day of school today - Matthew in kindergarten, Katie in 4th and Andrew in 6th. They had a great first day. Andrew was so excited to see all his friends - 6th grade is very social!! Katie has two of her great friends, Asha and Casey, in her class. Matthew had a great first day - he particularly liked the drama class (does that surprise you!). We will keep you up to date on our first week of school!!!

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Today was Andrew's first tackle football game with the Kissimmee Kowboys. He is #4 and plays linebacker on defense. The Kowboys beat the Osceola Panthers 9 - 6. It was a huge victory because the Panthers are the defending Champions in the league and have not been scored on in 3 years. WOW!!! Aunt Melinda, Emma Kate, Mom, Will, Julia, Matthew and Katie all went to the game, but it was TOO HOT for the little ones. The games were running late and we all had to leave. Luckily Sean took some great pictures. Hopefully the weather will cool down before the end of the season so we can all go and see him play.

I Love this Boy

I LOVE THIS BOY!!!

My friend Terri took some pictures of Will and Mommy yesterday morning. I noticed how many pictures I have of him with Sean and the kids, but not too many with me. She really captured how in love I am with this little one. He is such a sweet, gentle boy and growing so quickly. I wish you could freeze in time these first few weeks of a new little one. You may notice he still is sporting his mohawk or as the kids refer to it, his faux Hawk. I promise, we do not gel his hair!!

Matthew's Naples Trip

Matthew's Naples Trip

Matthew is having a blast in Naples. Oma took him to the beach yesterday and she treated him today to an airboat ride in the Everglades. He is loving all the one on one attention , Oma's cooking and the swimming pool. He is coming home on Thursday and will start school on Monday at Windermere!!

William's 1st Doctor's Appointment

William's First Doctor's Appointment

Will had his first doctor's visit today with Dr. Stone. He was a heft 10 pounds, 12 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. He slept the whole time and did not have to get a shot. He was in the 75% for height and weight. He doesn't have to go back until 2 months (but then he has to get shots!).

Julia's First Day of School

Julia's First Day of School

Julia started school today at the Community Pres. Church Co-op. She will be going on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 - 11:30. It will give Mom and Will some time to do some shopping, walking or resting! Julia loved her new backpack and was very excited when she got up this morning. In the car on the way over, I asked her is she was excited. She responded, "Not so much, really!" She was very nervous but didn't cry. She knows alot of kids in her class and her best friend Lauren is with her.

Daddy, Andrew and Katie left for Sandusky, OH on Saturday to spend a few days at Cedar Point. Matthew went to Naples with Oma and Poppy, so it is just me and Will here with Mom. I had my feelings hurt that no one took me with them on their fun week. Mommy hurt her back on Saturday so we have been pretty much confined to the house. Mommy let me hold William a couple of times. He is so cute and snuggly. I call him my "Fluffy Turtle!". I can't wait until Thursday when my brothers and sister get home.

Sweet Dreams

You ever wonder what babies are dreaming about when they have a big smile in their sleep? I was lucky and caught William grinning while swinging. Look at the chubby face - we weighed him today and he is over 10 pounds. We are all doing great adjusting to a new baby in the house. He is still very sleepy - we will see how everyone reacts when he wakes up!!

The Kane Boys

The Kane boys spent some time Sunday watching sports together!!! If you look closely, you can see that Matthew has lost both of his top front teeth this week. We had a lazy Sunday relaxing at home with the baby.

Matthew's First Sports Camp

MATTHEW'S FIRST SPORTS CAMP

Matthew went to the Orlando Magic Basketball camp today. They had a special one day session for kids 5 and 6 years old. Daddy and Andrew went to watch him. He had a blast. He even won the Magic Mascot award. They worked on basic skills like passing, dribbling, shooting and then did fun contests and relay races. "This is the best day of my life!" was his quote after the camp.

William Brooks - 1 Week Old

William is one week old today!! I know how time goes so fast when they are little, but we can't believe William is already been with us a week. He is a such a delight!! Still so sleepy so we will see how his temperment is when he wakes up. Sean took my mom, Katie and Matthew to the Shuttle Launch at Cape Canaveral today. They spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center and then on to the viewing area. It is a balmy 97 degrees with a heat index of 107!! Julia, Will and Andrew hung out with Mom today at home (INSIDE!!).

BOY THIS PLACE IS LOUD!!!

William has adjusted great to the crazy Kane household. This morning in his sleep, we caught him covering his ears. Aunt Meredith and Grandma are here visiting. Baby William is getting lots of love and hugs and kisses. We are all so in love with this little guy.

SAY CHEESE, JULIA!!

We anticipated a little jealousy from Miss Julia, but have been surprised at her naughtiness to us. She has been very sweet to Baby Will but has really been a freshie to Mom and Dad. I took this picture this morning on the front porch!! She was happy having Mommy to herself today. Sean took the older ones to the waterpark!! It is a balmy 97 degrees so Baby Will needed to stay home in the air conditioning.

WE ARE HOME!!

Baby William arrived safely home around 4:00 on Thursday (that long 2 minute drive from the hospital). He is a joy and had a great night. He slept 3, 3 hour increments so Mommy was very happy. Everyone is adjusting well and life goes on. We would love visitors so just give us a call or stop by.

WE ARE FAMILY .....

Just a few pictures of the first time that Andrew, Katie, Matthew and Julia met Baby Will. Everyone is excited to be a big sister or brother again. We are reminding Matthew that he is the only one in the family that has a big brother, little brother, big sister and little sister (and we won't remind him that he is the MIDDLE CHILD! )

PRECIOUS AND PERFECT!!

What a fabulous day it has been for our family. The delivery was very easy, our wonderful friends Kathy and Linda took care of the other kids so we didn't have to worry, and we received so many calls and well wishes.

The kids had a blast meeting William. Andrew and Katie are old pros at meeting new little babies. Matthew was definitely the most excited and Julia the most apprehensive. It is an amazing feeling to look into the faces of our FIVE children and realize how God has richly blessed our family. For that we are in awe and so grateful. Thank you again for all your messages, prayers and love. We definitely felt surrounded by all of our friends and family near and far today.

William Brooks has arrived!!! We joyfully welcomed William at 2:40 pm. He is 8 pounds, 15 ounces and 22 inches long. He is a sweetie with his eyes wide open. More pictures to come ... we are awaiting for the brothers and sisters to arrive. Little does Will know what he has in store for him!!!!

A quick update at 6:45 am Wednesday. We checked into the hospital last night at 10:00 pm and I got a good night's rest. They will be starting my pitocin here in the next hour or so and then we will see how things go. We will update the blog with any progress. Thanks for all your kind thoughts, text messages, calls, emails, etc. We are so excited to finally meet our little blesssing!!!
