Halloween - Part Two 2010

Halloween was a full day event on Friday at WPS ... parties, parades, pep rally, homecoming game, senior night!! A lot packed into one day ... more pics to come from Halloween!!

Carly invited William to a Halloween get together - Heather had crafts, games and lunch for the kids!! They didn't come in costume, but we decided at the end to dress them up and boy were we happy they did. Love these pictures ... going to dig out the pictures of Matthew wearing this same costume!! The pirate in the red jacket!! Particularly love how the parrot's head is upside down ... kind of freaky!!

When we get to Matthew's birthday, Sean and I have a collective sigh of relief!! We made it another year through the birthdays!!! February, May, June, August and October. The kids' birthdays are spread out and when we get to Matthew, we are like Hip, Hip Hooray!! Matthew had a great 9th birthday -- I already posted about his uber cool gaming party and the surprise trip to the Jags Monday night football game. He actually spent his birthday at school and then at Katie's volleyball game. Kind of the way it goes in a big family.

Matthew is our unique personality - hilarious, focused, driven, temperamental and by far the BEST DANCER in the group. Also he says what the rest of us might be thinking but not brave enough to say (looking more and more like Sean to me!!). We love this amazing 9 year old ... he is certainly one amazing and special young man!!

Monday Night Football

Sean surprised the boys for Matthew's birthday and took them on Monday to Jacksonville to Monday Night Football. They had an incredible time (that is until the game started!). The Jags played horribly and they were really disappointed!! The place had a great energy before the game and then poof ... oh well. We can't control the outcome ... just the experience and I know they all had a great time!!!

Wow ... what a fantastic 9th birthday party Matthew had with his best friend, Brody!! We had a shared gaming party at the park with an awesome game of laser tag. We had 20 boys and everyone had a blast!! It was fun to share the party with Brody ... they have a lot of friends in common so it made sense. Matthew doesn't officially turn 9 until next week ... so he has been having a month long birthday celebration. Hard to believe the man baby is turning 9!!! He is truly an original!!

Katie had a fantastic time on her trip to the Keys. Hats off to WPS Middle School for arranging an EDUCATIONAl and SOCIAL trip. So proud of Katie's initiative to try new things ... her hard work on the trip binder .... and her attitude!!! What a great girl!

Viva Las Vegas

I had a fabulous trip with my BFF, Buddy, to Las Vegas in October to celebrate our 40th birthdays!! She turned 40 in May and me the following March. We scheduled a trip right in between our big birthdays and decided to spend the weekend in Vegas. We stayed at Aria and loved the hotel. So modern and such interesting art!! We loved how everything in the room was remote control and techy!

Actually it is hilarious to think that 2 girls that don't drink, don't gamble and don't really even stay up late would choose Vegas, but it made the most sense!! Buddy's sister Charlene joined us to celebrate her 50th!! We went to 2 shows, ate a bunch of yummy food and lounged by the pool!! Thanks girls for a needed time away and an awesome way to ring in 40!!

Best friends for the past 15 years. Met in Cincinnati and lived in the same neighborhood for only 10 months!! We have both moved (us to Jacksonville, Celebration and now Windermere) and Buddy's family to Austin, TX ... but there isn't a day that doesn't go by that we don't talk, text, chat or email!! So grateful to walking this mommy/wife journey with another woman of faith, conviction, morals and integrity. I am a better person because of our friendship. And BTW -- we look darn good for 40!!

Keys Trip Day One

WPS does such a great job keeping pictures updated throughout the kids' trips so we can enjoy with them!! Loved seeing Katie looking so happy!! Yesterday they did an alligator airboat tour and a bunch of exploring. Can't wait to see what today brings!!
