Sunday Fun

We had a blast at the Dr Phillips park on Sunday at Zachary's 8th birthday party. This park was awesome for all the kids, there was a volleyball court, basketball court, big open fields and a free splash park. The weather was a bit chilly but the kids still got in the water. We played basketball, kickball and spent some much time in the park. I looked over and saw Andrew and William loving on each other ... too precious of a picture of my oldest and my baby!!

Let's Go Yankees

This is the 4th year of the Yankees for Andrew's little league team. We have started the season 6 - 0 and have an old team this year (8 12 year olds!). We have had some great pitching, our hitting is getting there but we have to improve on our fielding. Always something to work on ... Andrew has pitched and played 1st, 3rd and caught a bit. It is a balance juggling the school team and little league, but he is doing well in both and keeping his grades up!! We are lucky to have such a good boy!!

Matthew's Final Basketball Game

Matthew had a fabulous basketball season this year. He really improved on his dribbling and shooting, and was a great player for the 1st/2nd grade Hawks!! He was VERY AGGRESSIVE (see the picture of him putting a kid in a headlock! ... luckily they didn't call many fouls). He scored 22 and 20 points on his final 2 games and really drove down the lane using his left hand to dribble around kids!! He is going to play on a summer basketball team when we are in town with a bunch of his friends!!

Will and His Friends

Will has to hang out at the ballfields, the basketball court or in the car more than any toddler I know ... he found some peeps to hang out with the other day, Anna Cate and Clayton. Both of their older brothers were playing ball and these little ones were climbing up and down on the wrestling mats and dancing to the music. Kristin (Clayton's mom) and I were thrilled to get a picture of all of them sitting still. William will be in coop with Anna Cate this coming August (this is Jules' best friend Lauren's little sister!) Check out all of Will's silly faces!!

Legally Blonde

Katie and Mom had a date last Sunday ... we started off with brunch with 7 other moms and daughters at Mimi's cafe, then the girls were picked up in a Hummer limo (surprise!) and taken to the theater and we saw the musical, Legally Blonde. Very fun and entertaining!!! It is so good to have some one on one time with the kids!!! Katie is growing up so quickly ... she will be 11 in June! She is so amazingly smart, organized, a leader, athletic, very nurturing to her brothers and sister and pretty!!

Ok ... so a little late, but my two little leprechauns were so cute in their St Patty's day matching tshirts. Will's red hair added to the festivities .. and yes, we did have corned beef and cabbage!!!

Sweet Julia

Yesterday, I was sitting in my office (yes the barstool in the kitchen) and I heard a little, melodic voice coming from the stairs. I looked over to see Julia reading the family Bible and telling stories of Jesus. She had brought a cross from my table and had it sitting next to you. Nothing more could warm a mommy's heart than hearing her sweet 3 year old talking about Jesus. I got us quietly to get the camera and got a picture of her before she noticed I was looking. Then I got the professional smile .... What a sweetie!!

Another Great Game

Matthew had another great game last night for the Phillies. I think he had a triple, double and a grand slam ... only needed the single for the cycle. He is really focusing this year and is having fun with his team. We have really good hitters ...now we have to work on our fielding.

p/s I know I have not put any of Andrew's little league on the blog. I am not having luck taking good pictures in the dark with action ... I am trying. Maybe tonight ... if not, he has an afternoon game on Thursday.

LIttle League Has Begun

Last night, both Matthew and Andrew had league ball games. Matthew is playing machine pitch and Sean in the manager. He had two nice hits ... but his second was a rip and he got a home run. He hit is in the air to the outfield grass. He was really excited!!! Their team in the Phillies and they are a small, scrappy team!!

We are now in year four of the Yankees. We won 9 - 1 and Andrew pitched great. He had a school practice for THREE hours and then on to the little league game. He had a great bases loaded triple that almost went out of the park!! 3 RBIs and it broke the game open. Good job Kane boys ... all that practice is paying off.

Go Phillies ... World Champs!!

Mom, Katie and Matthew went to the Braves & Phillies Spring training game at Wide World of Sports Sunday afternoon. We were invited by Katie's best friend, Casey, and her family. The day started cool and rainy ... but it dried up and the sun came out. We were cheering for the Phillies and they won 7 - 3. It was so nice to be with the middle kids without the little ones. Matthew and I joked the whole time, he held my hand, we danced and were both very into the game!! I need to do dates like this with my big kids more often!!
