Matthew's First Communion

We are so excited for Matthew as he prepares for his First Communion this weekend at the 10:30 Mass. Although our spirited child (a nice way of saying strong willed), he is our most spiritual and tender hearted. Both my mom and Sean's parents will be here for this wonderful day. We love you Matthew .. our middle one. We ask God to bless you!!

Katie Update

Broken Right Foot ... 3rd broken bone (arm, hand, and now foot)

So if you have not heard, Katie has broken her foot. Yes, that is correct!! Her right foot ... almost a year to the day of when I broke my foot. She has a scooter, a boot and crutches. She is off of it for at least four weeks!! So her softball and volleyball seasons came to a screeching halt!!! She is still in the Willy Wonka play at school!! Here are some photos of her over the last month or so ...

Starting Young

Last week at Katie's beach tourney, Julia took some interest in the sport herself. There were a few open courts so she took a ball and started trying to serve over the net (negative on that!), but she wanted to pass with me. So cute ... and good form!!! I can totally see my Miss Jules hitting the sand soon!! Plus, think of how cute she will be in those short shorts!!

39 Years Strong ....

Have been celebrating my birthday for the past couple of weeks. Got to spend the actual day with Buddy, went out to a great dinner with Brenda and Ashley at Roys, had lunch with Kristin and Chris last Friday at the Celebration Hotel and am having lunch with my WPS girlfriends Lynn, Lisa and Beth tomorrow. So blessed to have so many sweet friends and family .... my mom and sisters sent a bunch of fun stuff!!! Hoping to make the most of this year ... improving my eating and exercise habits, spending more one on one time with each child, traveling a bunch, and just living in the moment!!

William's Birds

William and I water the plants everyday together. About a week ago, we went to water one of the hanging baskets and out flew a bird!! That was pretty weird but we didn't think much of it. The next day, the same bird was there and I put it together that there must be a nest with eggs. We shooed the momma away and I lifted William up and he saw two little white eggs. He was so excited and how informs everyone that he has a bird with two eggs. A couple of days ago, the baby birds were born. We got a good picture of them. They are still there and the momma is staying over them!! So adorable!!

Just noticed I have just been posting Katie's sports lately ... both Andrew and Matthew are in their baseball seasons. I have not been to many of Matthew's games (going tonight, yeah!!!) so I will definitely get tons of shots. Andrew has been starting in the outfield on the Varsity team the past couple of weeks. He is getting the hang of it and doing great!!!

More Big South Action Shots

We are so lucky that one of the girls on Katie's team Mom is a photographer. She rented and incredible lens for the Atlanta tourney and captured some great shots of Katie. It is so hard to get good volleyball pictures due to the indoor lighting and the fast action. We are so lucky to have these!!!!

Big South Tourney

We spent last weekend in Atlanta at Katie's travel volleyball tournament, The Big South!! So fun, the girls did great. They were seeded 25th and ended up 10th in the tourney. Katie got tons of playing time and she really got a taste of what is to come in travel volleyball. Boy, each age group that you move up, the girls are so amazing and TALL!!! Sean and I feel like shrimps each time we go to a volleyball tournament!

Easter Sunday

We spent Easter Sunday in Atlanta at Katie's volleyball tournament!! Sort of unorthodox way to spend Easter, but were we able to go to Mass together Sunday morning at Sacred Heart Basilica. It was an amazingly beautiful church and the kids were great!!! We didn't get to do an egg hunt or dye eggs this year!! So sad .... but the Easter Bunny did visit us at home and the kids got tons of treats!!

Bestie Time

While 1,2, & 3 went skiing with Dad, I took 4 & 5 with me to Austin to spend time with Buddy and her clan!! We didn't do a great job with pictures (that is hard to believe!) and I didn't get any blue bonnet pics! I had a day and half of stomach flu so that put a damper on part of the vacation!! But, nothing is better than just hanging with your best friend. I loved spending time with her and her family ... such a peaceful and fun house!! She inspired me to get my act together!!! Logan and William played well together and Julia was very good and just hung out and colored.

Austin Bound

Forgot that William hasn't traveled for awhile and he was sooo excited to be at the airport, going through security and checking out all the planes. He definitely has the Kane boy personality trait of being a bit tentative so for the first 15 minutes of the flight, he held onto the armrests for dear life. The kids were a treat to travel with!!

Rockin Disney Volleyball

While I was in Texas, Katie's volleyball team did AMAZING at their Disney tournament and finished in 2nd place overall!! Katie played great and had a blast!!! Cool pic of her bestie Casey and her with the trophy!!

Happy Birthday to Me

Needless to say I know I will have a memorable 39th birthday. Sean took the big kids to Park City to ski (which was a complicated trip ... later post!) and I went to Austin with William and Julia (another later post) to visit Buddy and her family. They were flying from Utah directly to Atlanta for Katie's volleyball tourney, and I flying back to Orlando and then driving to Atlanta. One small catch, car was left for me in the garage at the airport ... but keys went on to Park City with Sean. Luckily we discovered it Weds morning (my birthday!) and he was able to overnight them to me. It all worked out, but complicated my plan. Had to rent a car (on Weds of Easter Week in Orlando ... ouch!), was locked out of the house (good thing I could get into the garage apartment) and had to wait until later in the day to leave for Atlanta. The Conroys invited me for dinner that night and had a homemade cake and wonderful dinner to celebrate my birthday!!!

So this past week has been let's say challenging ... stomach flu in Austin taking me out of commission for a day, both of the boys sick in Salt Lake City, Katie having to fly unaccompanied because we didn't take into account her tourney when making travel plans, long trips back and forth to Atlanta for volleyball (including a turnpike shutdown that added at least an hour adding to our arrival time of 1:30am last night) ... but when I looked over at my family at the beautiful basilica where we celebrated Easter Mass early Sunday morning in Atlanta, I knew that all this roadblocks of the past week were because we are alive and active and busy!! Blessed beyond belief!!
