Strawberry Farm

We always look forward to the strawberry farm field trip .... it is a hike from school but so, so fun!! We head out to the farm in the morning, get a lesson about growing and picking strawberries, get to play at the park, go on a hay ride and pick a pint of strawberries!! William and mom got in on the action too!! Really if you think about it, William had a great spring with all of the fun field trips and presentations and plays!

Prom Nite ... WPS Style

So Sean and I went to the Prom this year ... well, not really the Prom, but the Prom themed gala at Windermere Prep. This is the big fundraiser of the year for our PTA and this year it was Prom Nite. I was on the committee and we all bought matching dresses. It was actually kind of fun to get all glammed out and have a night out with my boyfriend!! We scored front row kindergarten graduation seats!! It was a total blast and we made almost $40K for our school!!!

After a long wait, our dream to own a beautiful home on the lake in Windermere became a reality in late February / early March. Just a few pics of the house before .... I will post afters later. We put an offer on this house in mid August and finally heard from the bank that they accepted our offer in mid January. We had to scramble to get all the paperwork lined up, jump through hoops to get more documents and details that you could ever imagine, and fix several items (including the pool) before we could close. We took our time (about 3 1/2 weeks to fix everything up and fix a few surprises!), but successfully were in mid March. I packed the entire house (with some help from our sweet Kenia!) and moved all of the boxes and most of the house ourselves. We just had a moving company do the furniture. Within 5 days I was totally unpacked and starting to get the kids rooms set up. This house is a lot larger so we have a lot of furniture to purchase (this will be slow going) ... but we have the essentials done and are loving this new house!!

Dear Edwina

Both Andrew and Katie participated in the Spring Middle School musical, Dear Edwina. I have to say it was the weirdest play I had ever seen, didn't understand the whole story and the sound system was really awful. But, the kids did a great job and seems like they had a good time. Our school doesn't get to pick out what musical we are going to perform. We share the junior musicals with all the Meritas schools so the scripts, score and costumes arrived from another school and Dear Edwina we had.

Katie and Andrew had a scene together where Katie sings a solo about her brother Aristole (Andrew). It was really funny (Andrew really hammed it up) and Katie sounded really great (what you could hear of her!) Katie also had a bunch of other roles and Andrew was a fork and also a member of a steel drum band!!

Performing in a play was way out of Andrew's comfort level, but he did a great job, embraced the challenge and actually had a lot of fun. So proud of our actors!
