Feeling Groovy

Sean and I went to the WPS Gala last night "Woodstock" and had a groovy time. The decorations were amazing and so many of our friends were there!!! We love that the atmosphere is casual and the band was awesome!!!

Play Ball

Matthew's next sport ... BASEBALL. He had his opening ceremonies tonight. He is excited to hit the diamond!! First game next Saturday! Go Phillies!!

Missing Him

Just scanned in a picture of my dad for a Relay for Life display at our CLL opening ceremonies tonight. Can't believe in May he will have been gone for SEVEN years. Boy do I miss him every day. He would have loved to seen the kids growing up, doing sports, band, science projects, dancing on tables, etc. Telling someone the other day that no matter what his kids were into, he was into it 100%. He was the most amazing dad and man!! I wish I could just take another spin on the dance floor with him. Miss you dearly, Daddy!!

Win #2

Win #2 last night for Laker Softball. 2 - 1 ... not too shabby for a green group of girls learning to play the game. So proud!!

Mania-Fest Destiny

So proud of Andrew and his group (Eman and Reynaldo) on their amazing roller coaster and presentation!! In 8th grade at WPS, one of the big projects is this roller coaster. Each group was assigned a time period and Andrew's was Manifest Destiny (which I had no clue what it was ... yes, Sean did!). It is the idea of Westward expansion, the Homestead Act, etc. Kind of like the Nicole Kidman movie Far and Away. Their group jelled well and they worked for 4 consecutive weekends. We did the construction at our house ... thanks to Sean and all his tools and patience. We took several trips to the hobby shop downtown Orlando and in the end, the kids were so happy with the end product. They are very anxious to see what grade they got ... I think it is safe to say they rocked this project!!

911 Band Performance

The WPS Band performed at a 911 Tribute this past weekend downtown Windermere. I don't know all the details because I did not make it there, but they dedicated the above piece of one of the Twin Towers. WPS was the only band invited to attend ....

FIRST WPS SOFTBALL WIN

So proud of the WPS Lakers softball team ... first home game EVER and they come away with a win 16 - 6! Katie pitched great and struck out 8. She was 2-2 with a triple, single and a walk. Didn't count RBIs ... too busy chasing little kids and cheering for our Lakers.

Big 13

Andrew turned 13 today .. wow. Parents of a teenager. We just figured out that we will be parents of a teenager(s) for the next 17 years. Longer than we have been married!! I will continue to pray for patience and wisdom ... raising 5 kids sometimes is a daunting task. We had a nice day with Andrew ... he and Katie both served Mass. He had to work on his roller coaster project during the day and then we had a family dinner at Qdoba and ended at Starbucks for Frappucinos for all!! We will celebrate with a friend bash next Sunday.

We love you Andrew and are very proud of the young man you have become. Looking forward to a great year!!

WPS Softball ... The Beginning

So last night was the FIRST EVER WPS SOFTBALL game. The girls lost 4 - 0 to an experienced Foundation team. Katie pitched well with nine strikeouts. No one else on the team has played softball before so every moment is a teaching moment. The girls did much better than expected and were very proud of themselves. Sean is helping coach and I spent most of the game trying to explain the rules to the parents.

Valentine's Day Girls

Just loved these two picture of Jules and Kate ... people are starting to tell me that they look alike. Don't really see that but I know they both looked really pretty when we went out for Valentine's Day!!!

OVA Champs!!

Hip, hip, hooray. Katie's travel volleyball team won the Gold division this past weekend. They started slow at 1 - 2 on Saturday, but really turned up their play and won the entire tourney. Katie has really improved and if I can say so ... she was a serving Beast this weekend!! Looking forward to next weekend for just a one day tourney.

Super fun Valentines night with the Gambles. We went to Opa Taverna at Pointe Orlando. It is a Greek restaurant with great music, awesome food, belly dancers and magicians. As you can see from the photos, everyone got up on the table (besides Sean) and danced.

Valentine's Day Part II

Friday afternoon William and I went to Julia's classroom for her Valentine's Day party. It was very low key and fun. They made their own sandwiches, decorated cookies and played a conversation heart graphing game. William loves being in the classroom and just jumped right in with all the activities. He is growing up so fast .... before we know it he will be at WPS!!!

Valentine's Day Part I

William celebrated Valentine's Day with his friends yesterday at Co-op. They made VD bags and got to put their cards in each bag. The kids loved it and were so happy!!!

Black Eyed Peas .. Last Night was a Good, good night!

Lucky me ... my friend Terri's husband got stuck up North so an extra Black Eyed Peas ticket came available!! It has been a long time since I have been to a concert, but I have been wanting to go see them for at least 5 years. The concert was in Tampa ... the opening groups were a bit much for me (LMFAO and Ludacris). Definitely not a concert to take the kids to. BEP were awesome!! Loved everything about the concert .... had a blast and now I can check that off of my list of things I want to do!! Thanks Terri, Heather, Roger, Jenni and Kathy!!

Family

We had a wonderful visit from my dad's cousins, Laura and Barbara. They are so sweet ... they were vacationing in Sarasota and drove over for the day for a visit. They had not met Julia and Will yet .. Will was a complete ham and never stopped talking to them. They came in the morning, we had a nice lunch, and then went to WPS to watch Andrew's game. They had such fond memories of my dad and so many kind words. What a gift ....

Middle School Dance

Andrew looked dapper tonight at his middle school formal valentine's day dance. The dance is at the Grand Cypress ballroom and is for 7th and 8th graders. All the girls were very fancy and the guys cleaned up nicely as well ....

Jersey Day

When you wear uniforms everyday to school ... a dress down day is like gold!! Julia was totally excited for jersey day today at school. Check out her jersey with all the NFL teams ... it was very popular at school today. So many people asked her if I made it ... not! On the back was both the Colts and the Saints!!
